🚐 Palo Alto Targets “Vanlords” in RV Crackdown

Palo Alto is moving to ban so-called “vanlords”—people who rent out RVs for others to live in on city streets. Officials say the practice is unsafe and exploitative, with vehicles often lacking basic utilities. The city is also exploring new safe parking sites to better support unhoused residents living in vehicles, balancing enforcement with compassionate solutions. Read more here.

⚽️ Palo Alto Considers Artificial Turf

A new study suggests Palo Alto should replace grass with artificial turf on its busiest playing fields to meet rising demand for sports like soccer. Researchers found that turf would allow the fields to handle more hours of play and reduce closures due to wear and weather. City leaders are reviewing the findings as part of long-term planning for recreational facilities. The shift reflects Palo Alto’s effort to keep up with the needs of its active sports community. Yeobo, Darling is a warm and intimate 50-seat restaurant in Menlo Park, crafted by a chef couple who previously earned a Michelin star at Palo Alto’s Maum. This elegant spot weaves together Korean and Taiwanese influences through inventive dishes like perilla “somyun” noodles with aerated pine-nut milk, and a reimagined lu rou fan lasagna featuring chrysanthemum-spinach pasta and bechamel.
